Grown on pink granite from old vines, this wine looks like a vivid ruby with flashes of violet in the glass. Bursting with ripe raspberry, wild strawberry and a touch of crushed violets, it's backed by a flicker of spice and cracked pepper. The palate is very silky. Its juicy red berries wrapped in fine, polished tannins, humming with freshness and a streak of granite-driven minerality. It’s elegant but not shy, vibrant yet layered. The finish is long with pure fruit and a subtle spicy kick. Classic Fleurie charm, cranked up with depth and old-vine intensity. It is great to drink now, but will be even better over time.

Method Magic Domaine de la Madone is a six-generation, family-run estate perched high on Fleurie’s steep pink-granite slopes. Today it is under the stewardship of Arnaud Després. Old Gamay vines, many 70 to 100+ years old, cling to the sun-soaked hillsides, forcing everything to be harvested by hand. In the cellar, gravity does the work! Whole clusters ferment traditionally in concrete vats with a long period of maceration to pull out colour, perfume and, that signature granite edge. Then comes the polish, this wine, the Vieilles Vignes cuvée, spends around 12 months in French oak barrels, adding subtle spice, texture and depth without losing its vibrant fruit core. Lightly filtered and handled with minimal intervention, it’s Beaujolais done the authentic way. Steep slopes, old vines and patient élevage, this wine is all about pure Fleurie energy with an elegant oak-aged twist.
