Method Magic Blackbook Nightjar Pinot Noir is the product of a bold, urban winemaking vision: grapes are hand picked from the south facing Clayhill Vineyard in Essex and brought straight to Blackbook’s quirky winery tucked under a railway arch in Battersea, South London, where artisan ethos meets serious skill. The fruit is naturally fermented in small open top fermenters with indigenous yeasts and aged in French Burgundy oak barrels for 9 months, with minimal sulphur and no fining or filtration, letting the purity and character of the English Pinot shine through in every bottle. Blackbook Winery was founded and is run by Sergio Verrillo and his wife Lynsey, Londoners who turned a love of cool climate wine and big city energy into one of England’s most exciting still wine producers, sourcing exceptional grapes from nearby growers and crafting wines with both finesse and flair.
