Method Magic Yo El Rey 8:49 is a wild and low intervention wine: 70% Syrah from Stellenbosch, 30% Grenache Noir from Breedekloof, fermented in plastic bins with varying levels of whole bunch maceration. Each lot is pressed off and aged in old oak barrels for 11 months, then filtered lightly before bottling. The name 8:49 comes from the story of the winemaker’s old Casio watch that got chewed up by a mischievous dog and started beeping every night at 8:49PM. This inspired a ritual amongst his friends to raise a glass together every night at that time, savouring the moment and celebrating their friendship. Whether you're perched on a mountaintop or just spinning a record at home, 8:49 is a wine to stop time with — to toast your crew, your journey, and everything in between.
