Product Details

Rich and beautifully textured, with ripe citrus, yellow apple and stone fruit at its core. There’s a creamy, almost buttery weight to the palate, balanced by bright acidity and a subtle savoury, mineral character. Gentle toast and spice add complexity without overwhelming the fruit, leading to a long, polished finish. A powerful Californian Chardonnay, but one with freshness and precision as well as richness.

How It's Made

The Chardonnay is whole-cluster pressed before fermenting with native yeasts in French oak. Malolactic fermentation follows, and the wine remains on its lees for 22 months, building texture and complexity. For the 2023 vintage, 70% of the French oak is new. The wine is bottled unfined and unfiltered, preserving the richness and character developed during its long élevage.

About Hudson Vineyards

Hudson Vineyards
Carneros, Napa Valley, California USA Founded 1981 Winemaker Andrew Holve

Hudson Vineyards is a family-owned estate in Carneros, Napa Valley, established by Lee Hudson in 1981. The vineyards form part of a remarkable 2,000-acre ranch, with more than 200 acres under vine alongside olive groves, livestock, fruit and vegetables.

Hudson first built its reputation as a grower, supplying fruit to some of California's leading winemakers before developing its own estate wines. Chardonnay has become particularly important here, with the combination of meticulous farming and Carneros' distinctive growing conditions producing wines for both Hudson's own label and a number of highly regarded Californian producers.
