A smoky but surprisingly elegant Blended Malt Scotch from Compass Box. Briny coastal peat and clean smoke are layered with ripe fruit, peaches and cream, followed by a warming flicker of spice. Powerful enough for committed peat lovers, but balanced and nuanced enough to show there is considerably more here than smoke alone.

Product Details

Like it says on the label, this is a feast of peat. A marriage of both briny and clean smoke, underlaid with ripe fruity notes, peaches and cream. Plus, a bit of hot spice reminiscent of cayenne pepper. This is powerful yet layered. An elegant monster, as it were.

Compass Box is an independent Scotch whiskymaker founded in 2000, with its Blending Room in Richmond, London and stocks of maturing whisky in Scotland. Rather than operating as a traditional distillery, Compass Box creates whiskies by bringing together carefully selected parcels of malt and grain whisky, with blending and cask selection at the heart of its approach.

Known for challenging some of the conventions surrounding blended Scotch, Compass Box explores flavour through everything from bright, fruit-driven blended malts to smoky blends and richly textured grain whiskies.
