Independent bottlings are whiskies selected, matured, and bottled by companies or individuals other than the distillery that produced the spirit. These bottlers often release single cask or small-batch expressions that showcase unique, unblended characteristics, often without chill-filtration or added coloring. Independent bottlings offer enthusiasts rare, often limited-edition alternatives to official distillery releases and provide insight into lesser-seen sides of familiar distilleries.
