Made in the ‘Jalisco highlands’. This tequila can be identified for its rich cocoa, vanilla and, slight lime zest. There are some vanilla and creamy aromas. Quite full bodied whilst remaining elegant. Silky smooth with flavours of cinnamon, nutmeg and clove spice. The characteristic pepper is noticeably there, balanced by cocoa and sweet fruit. There is a little spicy dried chili and vanilla on the finish.

Method Magic Founded in 1937, Tapatio can be found in the blue agave growing mountainous region of Jalisco in Mexico. Distillation happens in a 2,500L Alambic (or Charentais) pot still. These stills, or more accurately works of art, are hand made to the distillery’s specifications. Pot stills involve batch distillation, a process which is slower and more labour intensive, but they are used to create a more artisan and flavoursome product, the sort of product we all love. Tapatio anejo is double distilled to 114 proof. It is aged for 18 months in ex-Bourbon barrels, six months more than the minimum age requirement for a reposado anejo. The tequila is then cut down to bottling proof, before bottling. 🍋🟩
