Method Magic This cult Barossa white is from Sigurd Wines, the small, family-run label founded in 2012 by owner-winemaker Dan Piwko-Graham, named after his Norwegian great-grandfather. Built from a mix of white varieties such as Semillon, Vermentino, Muscat and Viognier grown in sustainably farmed South Australian vineyards, each component is fermented separately with native yeasts, keeping things raw and expressive. Some parcels spend time on skins for extra grip, colour and aromatics, while others are directly pressed, before everything comes together and rests on fine lees in old, large-format French oak . With a minimal-intervention mindset and only low sulphur at bottling, the result is a fresh yet textural white/orange-style wine that blends Barossa energy with an Old World sensibility.
