Method Magic Port Askaig 8 Year Old is an independently bottled Islay single malt that keeps things stripped back and intentional. Made from peat-smoked barley and distilled in classic copper pot stills at an undisclosed Islay distillery (widely tipped to be Caol Ila), it’s all about letting the coastal spirit speak. Aged for at least eight years in a smart mix of ex-bourbon barrels, refill hogsheads, and a touch of toasted oak and PX sherry cask influence, the focus stays on clarity rather than excess. Vanilla and citrus up front, smoke and minerality underneath. Bottled non-chill filtered and without added colour, it arrives unpolished and honest, with Islay’s sea air baked into the edges: clean, smoky, and confidently understated. 🥃
