With only 860 bottles made, 'La Jaqcuessonne' 2019 is truly a Champagne to impress. From Pinot Meunier vines dating back to 1966, this marks a successful experiment from the lauded Brochet family, who have produced a breath-taking wine of complexity, intensity and freshness. Ripe red fruits are embraced by the toastiness of the oak, all while singing with a seam of minerality. Long-lasting finish rounds off this wine's exceptional quality.

Method Magic The Brochet family are true pioneers of the Grower Champagne movement - launching their first bottle in 1881! The leader of the family, Marie Arsène, employed massale selection to cultivate the best vinestock, and over a century later the family still benefits from excellent viticultural management in their village of Ecueil, in the Montagne de Reims. Now, sibilings Hélène and Louis manage 13 hectares under HVE (High Environmental Quality) certification, specialising in Pinot Noir. 'La Jaquessonne' is an exquisite recent addition to the Brochet name, with Pinot Meunier vines planted in 1966 on the mid-slope in the village of Branscourt in the Ardre Valley. Its bounty is vinified in large oak barrels (300L and 350L) with minimal intervention. Partial malolactic is allowed to take place, before the wine is aged 3 years on lees in bottle. The final dosage is 'Extra-Brut', with less than 2g/L to fully express the purity of the incredible Pinot Meunier vineyard.
