A beautiful bright yellow in the glass lets forth lush aromas of white peach, juicy pear and crisp green apple, lifted by lemon zest, soft florals and a mouth-watering hint of wet stone. On the palate it’s vibrant yet creamy, layering ripe orchard and stone fruit with zippy citrus freshness and a gentle herbal twist, all wrapped in a beautifully textured, silky feel. Subtle oak adds depth and warmth without stealing the spotlight, and the finish is long, fresh and saline. Impressively complex and a cut above, if we say so ourselves!

Method Magic Stellenbosch star winemaker Reg Holder, the owner of Holder Wines and former head winemaker at Delheim, is responsible for this remarkable bottle. Produced under his Dorper label, the wine is crafted from carefully selected old-vine Chenin Blanc parcels across Stellenbosch, including areas such as the Bottelary Hills, and is fermented and matured in older oak to highlight purity, texture and site expression rather than overt wood flavour. Dorper is not a single estate but a focussed, terroir-driven project, with its name referencing both the Afrikaans word dorp (“village”) and the resilient Dorper sheep. It is a nod to authenticity, adaptability and wines that quietly but confidently express their Stellenbosch roots.
