Exceptional bubbles from one of our favourite Champagne houses, the Philippe Gonet Brut Reserve has everything you want in proper sparkling: shimmering yellow glow, bright lemon notes, apples and pears, and delicate white flowers all wrapped in that classic toasty brioche. Pinot Noir-led helps give this wine more body than might be expected for the price, balanced by zesty Chardonnay and the Gonets' impeccable expertise in the winery for a complexity and elegance. An excellent aperitif, it also goes very well with canapés and cheeses. The Brut Reserve really punches above its weight in many of our blind tastings, so if you haven't already, we strongly suggest you grab a glass.

Their Brut Réserve is a truly impressive: 60% Pinot Noir from Montgueux, Le Breuil, Fontaine-sur-Ay, Vertus, and Vindey - 30% Chardonnay from the sun-drenched slopes of Montgueux - 10% Pinot Meunier from La Chapelle-Monthodon. Vinified in stainless steel to add purity and precision, it rests for an impressive 3 years on the lees, a full two years longer than the legal minimum. This helps build depth, elegance, and complexity. The vineyards are alive and thriving: no insecticides, no herbicides, and only organic bio-fertilizers. Certified HVE3 and VDC, this is sustainability with soul. This is Champagne that speaks of its terroir, bringing out lifted mineral notes of the special Le Mesnil soil.
