This full-bodied wine is defined by its high-altitude vineyards, 30-year-old vines and its distinctive expression of Calchaqui Valley terroir. The high elevation helps set the all-important acids in the grape which translate to a superior wine. Aromas include black cherry, plum, lavender and a slight note of spice. The wine feels smooth textured with ripe dark fruits, vanilla, mocha, and a little tobacco.

Method Magic The vines are grown 2,000m above sea level. The grapes are picked by hand to ensure only the best berries are selected and to minimise damage to the grape skins, which will harm the wine. Fermentation happens in concrete vats using indigenous Yeats. This process encourages complexity of flavours along with purity of fruit. During the time in vats, the must and grape skins bathe together for 25 days. This is followed by malolactic fermentation, to take the edge off some of those sharp flavours. Finally, 30% of the wine is aged in second fill French oak casks for 8 months.
