This wine is defined by its high-altitude and traditional winemaking techniques. The high elevation of the terroir helps to preserve the wonderful acidity in the wine. On the nose, there are a complexity of aromas which include of cherry and cassis, complemented by earthy minerality and red peppers. There is also a hint of tobacco, black pepper. The wine is medium to full bodied with a smooth texture and great acidity which does not overwhelm the fruitiness.

Method Magic The vines are grown 2,200m above sea level. The grapes are picked by hand to ensure only the best berries are selected and to minimise damage to the grape skins, which will harm the wine. Fermentation happens in concrete vats using indigenous Yeats. During this time, the must and grape skins bathe together for 21 days. This is followed by malolactic fermentation, to take the edge off some of those sharp flavours. Finally, 30% of the wine is aged in second fill French oak casks for 8 months.
