Method Magic The domaine was founded by François Merlin, a former apprentice of Rhone legend René Rostaing, who carved out his own path in the late 1980s with a fiercely independent, low-intervention philosophy. Today, François works alongside his son Laurent Merlin, bringing a new generation’s precision while keeping the soul intact. Everything here is worked by hand; it must be as these slopes are too wild for machines, and that struggle shows up in the intensity and elegance of the wines. Their Condrieu is created from a blend of Viognier from 4 different plots within the celebrated appellation, which certainly works - this bottle is ranked among the best of white Rhones.
