Method Magic Château Perron is a family-run winery in the Lalande-de-Pomerol appellation of Bordeaux, dating back to 1642 and owned by the Massonie family for three generations. Today it’s managed by Béatrice, Bertrand and Thibaut Massonie, with Bertrand particularly active in daily winemaking and estate leadership. Their vineyards cover about 36 hectares on a misture of sandy and gravel soils. Merlot dominates with smaller amounts of Cabernet Sauvignon and Cabernet Franc. They practice environmentally-oriented viticulture (including organic conversion and standards such as ISO 14001 and HVE 3). Grapes are picked at optimal ripeness using both hand and selective machine harvesting. The wine is vinified plot by plot in temperature-controlled vats using cement for Merlot, stainless steel for Cabernets, with traditional extraction techniques tailored through regular tasting. After alcoholic and malolactic fermentation, the must stays on skins (vatting) for 3–5 weeks to develop colour and structure. The wine is then aged for about 12–18 months in French oak often in large oak vessels or barrels, with a portion new oak used each year.
