By law, rye whiskey must be at least 51% rye, but FEW goes up a beyond with 70% rye, 20% corn (for a touch of sweetness), and 10% malted barley in the mash bill. The spirit was initially matured in new American oak before spending three years in a Sauternes cask, adding a rich, honeyed depth. And who bottles it?
